Living in New England, we are surrounded by some of the finest examples of old-world craftsmanship in architecture. We are students of the builders of yesterday in terms of detail and pursuit of aesthetic perfection. Driving around town, or while on a trip out of town, we will often stop to photograph a fine old home and plead for a tour of the inside. We love what we do.
Our in house specialty revolves around custom treatment of interior and exterior details, made to order kitchen/bath cabinetry (Kitchens by Kurzhaus), millwork and architectural elements. We work diligently to stay abreast of the latest construction techniques, new product offerings and code changes.

The Process
We prefer to handle overall project management with our experienced group of field professionals. This affords Kurzhaus more control over attention to detail resulting in potential cost savings. We formalize the owner client relationship with a Contract which is based on the actual cost of the work, including trade discounts, plus a fee. All costs are known to all parties. Change Orders track any changes approved by the owner and/or Architect. Kurzhaus issues a monthly report that tracks all costs by line item. Copies of invoices, quotes and any other relevant information are submitted on a bi-monthly basis.
We hold weekly company meetings to review scheduling, costs, changes, etc.. We also encourage meetings with the owner and Architect to discuss these issues as well. The success of a project hinges on good communication.
The Team
Trevor Kurz is the President and founder of Kurzhaus Designs, Inc. His extensive knowledge of all phases of construction is essential to exemplary job performance. Trevor is a standing member of various trade organizations, licensed Construction Supervisor, former member of the Orleans Architectural Review Committee and a Licensed Real Estate professional. Trevor is constantly researching new product and regularly attends trade shows/seminars to stay abreast of code issues, product releases and new techniques. Trevor can always be found on-site collaborating with subs in regard to project time lines, design ideas, etc. Trevor has been dubbed "Captain Bargain" as a result of his money saving endeavors while acquiring product for our Clients homes.
Robert Cifelli wears many hats at Kurzhaus. As VP of our Millwork Production department (Kitchens by Kurzhaus), Bob designs and builds our kitchen and bathroom cabinetry as well as any custom millwork and built-in case work. Bob cut his teeth as a carpenter in his step father's construction business on the Cape but heard the call of patriotism and joined the military for a six year tour in the US Navy, 1980-1986. Bob studied electrical engineering and mathematics while serving and upon his honorable discharge in 1986, started a furniture and cabinet construction business in New Hampshire. Bob moved back to Cape Cod in 2004, building kitchens for Kurhzhaus Designs, joining the company as a partner soon afterward. Bob is also responsible for the designs and maintenance of our website and computer networks. Bob resides in Brewster and has a teenage son, Tyler, who is the apple of his eye. He also enjoys playing and collecting guitars.
